Set it up once. It handles the rest.
When runs start, how they wait for your CI, and the accounts and data each test needs.
Runs start on every pull request, on a mention, or when you start one.
Want it to wait for your CI first?
Turn on Wait for CI checks in project settings.
Test any open pull request.
If you can edit the project, start one from Sessions with Test a pull request.
It sets up what its tests need, then tests.
Many test cases need something to exist first, such as a signed-in user, a confirmed email address or a project with items in it. Before Qlane tests a pull request, it creates those through your app, in the sandbox it built for that pull request.
When setup creates something, it puts a short marker from that run in the name wherever the app accepts one, so two runs against the same app can tell their data apart. Setup is on unless you switch it off for a project.
01 / 06 · Signs in as the account you name
Store test accounts by name, such as ‘admin’ or ‘expired trial’, with a password, a Qlane mailbox or both. Add facts, like the account’s plan, and notes on how to use it. The agent sees each account’s name, facts and notes and signs in as the one a case needs.
02 / 06 · Makes the data through your app
Qlane signs in and uses your app’s own screens to create what each case needs. When it can’t create something, the run says why, and you can report it or run that step again.
03 / 06 · Reads its own email
Runs get email addresses on a domain Qlane owns. Qlane can sign up as a new user, open the confirmation email, and enter the one-time code or follow the magic link.
04 / 06 · Types the values you give it
Save your payment provider’s test card or a tax authority’s test number on the Test data tab. Pull-request runs and QA baseline sign-ups enter the values you saved in place of ones the agent would invent.
05 / 06 · Lists what it couldn’t do
If your target stores fewer than two test accounts, a case that needs a second account is left out of the plan, and the review says how many and offers to add one.
06 / 06 · Where it still needs you
Sign-ups that need a phone number or a company email address need an account you store. On a URL target, Qlane tests your deployment as it is, so the accounts and records its cases need must already be there.
